J&J Disposal Residential Curbside Trash Pickup Information

Trash should be properly bagged and/or contained and kept reasonable. Trash cans should weigh no more than 70 lbs per can. It is recommended that your garbage be out on the curb by 6:30 AM. It is recommended for your garbage to be out on the curb by 6:30 AM or the night before your scheduled trash pickup; otherwise, your trash will not be picked up until your next scheduled day. Collection time may be anywhere from 7 AM - 6 PM on your scheduled day. Although trash pickup is typically around the same time each week, weather conditions and the mechanics of the truck may delay the general pickup times.

We are not able to pick up the following items:

  • Batteries

  • Dirt, concrete, cement, blocks, and bricks

  • Liquid waste (paint, oil, pesticides, chemicals)

  • Propane or gas tanks

  • Tires

  • *Yard waste (branches, leaves, grass clippings)

  • Construction debris

  • Appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers)

  • Heavy, thick steel or metals

  • Remodeling/construction materials

  • Human waste of any kind

One large item, such as a mattress, couch, loveseat, or chair, is free per month. Furniture motors, bed couch frames, and/or heavy steel frames would need to be removed first. Please call J&J Disposal’s Office (810-417-1275) for special pickup for anything more than one large item or extra-large stops for an additional charge.

Up to 10 normal-sized kitchen bags with the normal rate (extra bags can be prepaid for before the day of pickup).

Holiday Schedule

Curbside trash pickup will be unavailable on the following holidays:

  • New Year's Day

  • Memorial Day

  • 4th of July

  • Labor Day

  • Thanksgiving

  • Christmas

Trash pickups are scheduled as normal for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

Unless a holiday falls on a weekend, trash will be picked up one day late if your scheduled pickup falls on or after a holiday. Please have your garbage out on the curb by 6:30 AM or the night before, in case the route runs early due to customers forgetting their collection day due to the holiday.
