The Village of Capac seeks a highly qualified Department of Public Works candidate. Reporting directly to the DPW Supervisor. The DPW Laborer-Operator will play a pivotal role in the Public Works Department. This includes underground excavating, water distribution, sewer collection, parks, streets, events, storm drainage, and fleet and building maintenance. A Michigan CDL may be required. The ideal candidate will bring experience operating and maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities and qualifications for the positions include but are not limited to:

• A valid Michigan driver’s license.

• Ability to operate and maintain Village equipment.

• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers.

• Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol test.

• Must be 16 years or older.

• General responsibilities include painting, general building maintenance, yard maintenance, lawn mowing, worksite restoration, brush pick up, road maintenance, and other jobs assigned.
