We are working with the DEQ about the water in Capac. The DEQ has notified us that the water is safe. All the tests have come back normal. We are flushing the hydrants in order to flush any rust and sediment from the lines. Running the water for a few minutes should help clear it up. If there is ever a problem with the quality of the water the Village of Capac is required by law to notify the residents immediately.
The next council meeting will August 19 , 2019 at 7:00 at the American Legion Hall
*Planning Commission is accepting letters of interest to fill a vacancy on the board. Applicants must be residents of the Village. Planning Commission meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.
On multiple occasions, we have found shop rags and mop heads blocking the pumps of the water system in the village. The flushing of foreign objects down toilets is causing pump blockage, which in turn causes system failure. Pump station failure may ultimately result in sewer back-ups within your homes and businesses.
Please DO NOT flush anything other than toilet paper down your toilets and do NOT allow anything other than waste water to go down your sinks and/or maintenance drains. Do NOT put paper products down your garbage disposals.
